The site is spectacular. The weather should be perfect. It's times like this that I wish I could be out there playing with those guys. I love to play golf and watching golf for me can be just as exciting. I know some people find it boring or dull, but I could not think of a better way to spend my Sunday afternoons in the summer than watching a dramatic finish to a major championship. Whether or not you are rooting for Phil, Tiger, or an underdog, this promises to be an exciting weekend for golf fans.
Torrey Pines golf course, just outside of San Diego, California, overlooks the Pacific Ocean and has a majestic setting along the coast.

It is the longest course in U.S. Open history and should be a challenge to even the most skilled players. Will the weather hold out this weekend for the golfers at Torrey Pines? Absolutely!

Saturday's surface map shows that cold front affecting the eastern half of the country, while the west remains pretty quiet. Ridging will start to take place across the Pacific Coast, so temperatures should warm up nicely. Other than a marine layer bringing some fog and low clouds in the morning, Saturday looks like a pleasant day at the golf course with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the lower 70s for highs. Spectacular weather indeed!

Sunday's surface map looks pretty much the same for the California area, and as a result, another pretty nice day is on the way. Father's Day should bring more sunshine and temperatures along the coast in the lower 70s after some early morning fog. All the dads on the golf course will be thankful for such a beautiful weekend along the Pacific Coast. As it warms in the west, we begin to cool down closer to home heading into next week. This should be a welcome relief to many who have been waiting for some slightly cooler and more refreshing weather. Enjoy the U.S. Open this weekend and hopefully you get the chance to watch it with your Dad! I'll be back next Wednesday with all new blogs and weather insight. Send me your thoughts or comments by posting them below. I look forward to hearing from all of you!
