Cross-Country Traveler Stops In Mid-State

A Montana man is on a mission to tour the country. It's a journey that began about a year-and-a-half ago. This weekend, he made a stop in the Mid-state with transportation that takes a whole lot of horse power, yet uses no gas.
"We're just visiting our way across America is what we're doing," said Lee "The Horse Logger."

You won't see him on any interstate and he's not allowed to take the turnpike. That's because lee the horse logger travels three miles an hour.
"It's a pace that you'll never understand unless you just do it," he said. "I find that keeping things simple is better."
The Montana man began his trip out west in the Summer of 2006. He wanted to see the country "for grins and giggles."
Lee's been through just about every weather extreme. "30 below, 106 above, snow storms, blizzards actually, hail storms, lighting strikes."
So far, he's logged 3,300 miles with little more than the clothes on his back -- everything he owns. "Poverty can be a gift if you're willing to use it."
He's met thousands of people on his journey, and a stop in the Mid-state means yet another friend. "Later on he's coming over having dinner and taking a shower. It's my new buddy," said Camp Hill resident Heidi Dolimpio.
You see, lee doesn't measure America using a road map, instead, by the kindness of the people who live here. "It's amazing the support you get on something like this," said Lee.
And so with the company of his dogs Kermit and Katie, Lee says goodbye to Harrisburg. "Now it's time to move on, see other parts of the country." But not before the traveler made an impression. "All of us should have a little of him in us you know care-free," said Dolimpio.
Lee is now heading back West. he wants to visit California, and his last stop on his journey is Alaska. Lee's planning to arrive there sometime in the fall of 2010. We asked him what's next after he completes the trip and lee simple replied, "I have no idea."
