Harrisburg, Pa. (AP) - The businesses that farmers do business with at the Pennsylvania Farm Show say 2008 was a pretty good year in spite of the nation's battered economy.
Salesman Harold Lenker at Valley Ag & Turf says his Halifax dealership has a full pipeline of John Deere tractors that have been ordered, but not delivered yet.
The dealership is among 270 commercial exhibitors showing off their wares at this week's Farm Show - more to educate the general public than to drum up business. The show continues through Saturday.
Gary Hauseman of says sales at the Hoober dealership in Intercourse were up 10 to 15 percent from the previous year.
But some businesses say the outlook for 2009 is less certain.
