Hershey, Pa. - People in Hershey spent New Year's night celebrating with swing music and watching a sweet treat make its grand entrance.
Hundreds braved the sleet and freezing rain to see the giant replica Hershey Kiss raised to the top of the Hershey Press building.
The night featured music by the up-and-coming boy band Honor Society, and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies who are famous for the song, 'Zoot Suit Riot'.
The night ended with a fireworks display.
"It's great. We were upset we couldn't come last year. Glad we could make it this year - it was way too cold last year," said David Deimler of Hershey.
Rebecca Murton enjoyed the night's musical performances. "I enjoyed the band. It was so much fun standing there listening to the music and dancing. I enjoyed that."
Kylie Stare of Hershey was impressed people still came out to celebrate in the less-than-ideal weather conditions. "I think it's great that there's so many people coming out when it's raining tonight. I think that's awesome."
This was the 5th year for the kiss raise. The kiss itself is 12 feet tall and weighs 300 pounds.
Unfortunately, it's not made of chocolate.
