A Perry County dog shelter is giving older dogs a second chance to find a loving home. The Paw Prints Dog Sanctuary in Spring Township opened four months ago. It is a second tier shelter, meaning it takes in older dogs from rescue organizations or shelters.
At Paw Prints, those dogs, which in many cases, might be put down, are given a home. They receive food, water, shelter and company.
Paw Prints has an expansion project in the works, which will include a bigger building to house more dogs as well as another building for its Canine Corps Project. This will house dogs belonging to service members deployed overseas who have no family or friends to take care of their dog.

Paw Prints welcomes donations for these projects as well as volunteers.
The dogs themselves are available for adoption. To learn more about Paw Prints, check out its website,
