Cumberland Valley Teachers Authorize Strike

Teachers in the Cumberland Valley School District voted to give their negotiating team the authorization to call a strike if they deem it necessary. The vote came after the negotiations team rejected the board's latest contract offer during a meeting Wednesday night.
The teachers union is seeking a 4.9% salary increase each year for four years while the the board is offering 4% in the first two years and 4.25% in the third and fourth years.
Cumberland Valley teachers have been working without a new contract since June 30, 2007.

If the CV teachers would like to go work for the Harrisburg School district to make $1700 per year more, LE T THEM!! I personally, would rather work in the TAJ MAHAL facilities that CV has, with the bright students whose parents are involved!! More money for teachers is not the reason for CV's good schools, it is PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT!! Hey CV teachers, don't let the door hit you on the way out to find a job in Harrisburg!!!
