Holtwood, Pa. - State police say a Lancaster County man drowned in the Susquehanna River near Holtwood Friday.
Dale Glick, 59, was with a friend in a small boat that capsized shortly after 4 p.m., police said. His body was recovered and Glick was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the men were looking for Native American artifacts and were about 10 yards from the shore of an island when the water got rough and a wave came over the boat, causing it to capsize.
Glick's friend swam to shore, while Glick clung to the boat. Police say he eventually decided to swim to shore, but didn't make it.
The county coroner's office said Glick, a resident of Holtwood, died of drowning due to hypothermia.
