Lebanon, PA - For people who make a living plowing snow, there is no grumbling. Our massive snow storm is money in the bank.
During the summer you'll find Randy Hartranft of Myerstown doing excavation work on construction projects.
But on Saturday he was clearing snow in a Lebanon shopping center parking lot.
"Yeah. The boss was smiling this morning," said Hartranft. "And he even got up at three o'clock."
If companies like the one Randy works for were not removing snow, some very expensive excavation equipment would be sitting. Instead it's generating income.
A little further south on Route 72 in Lebanon County, Jeremy Wolgemuth of T and D Excavating in Manheim, was also happy to be plowing out shopping centers. Even if it is a long day.
"I started at 2:30 am," said Wolgemuth. "And I've been going ever since.
His company also depends on lots of snow for extra work and jobs. He hopes the winter of 2010, turns out to be a record breaker.
"Well I hope it keeps going," he said. "We can get the good paycheck at the end of the week."
