When I first heard the 2008 Cadillac CTS was named Motor Trend's Car of the Year, I was not surprised. There's a lot to like in this redesigned sports sedan. It's the best looking Cadillac since the 1950's - both outside and inside. This is a beautiful, comfortable, well constructed interior with lots of eye-pleasing details. The sweeping wood trim is especially nice.
The CTS navigation and audio system touch screen is the best design on the market. It never leaves you scratching your head and partially tucks into the dash when you don't need it.

A six-speed automatic lives in the center console. A six-speed manual is available.
accommodations for back seat passengers are just as nice with generous legroom and extra comfortable seats. The short tail makes for a narrow trunk opening but cargo space is very good for a car of this size.
If looking at this new Cadillac CTS doesn't make you smile, I guarantee driving this 304-horsepower beauty will make you smile. The optional Direct Injection V6 is smooth and powerful. Rear-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive is available. Handling and braking are excellent and pretty much on-par with anything coming out of Germany.
Despite it's sporting nature, the CTS is a quiet cruiser with a healthy dose of luxury. Our pre-production test car did not have a sticker price, but you can figure to spend about $33,000.
Years ago, Cadillac's marketing slogan was "An American Standard for the World." I think they could start using it again with the CTS.
