Harrisburg Police arrested five teenagers in connection with two robberies that occurred in the city yesterday.

The suspects, three 15-year-olds and two 16-year-olds, are accused of attacking their alleged victims, including a U.S. Postal Service worker.

Harrisburg Mayor Stephen Reed said the mail carrier was punched and kicked by the five teens, who then stole several pieces of mail and fled the area.

The robbery occurred in the area of North 3rd and Vaughn Streets at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Around 5:00 p.m., Reed said four of the suspects robbed a man walking through the park at Italian Lake.

The teens struck the man from behind, kicked him, and took his computer bag.The bag was thrown to the ground when the teens realized there was nothing in it, Reed said.

Each of the suspects was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery and placed in the Schaffner Youth Center.
