Former President Bill Clinton says his wife should be the next President of the United States.

And he says he doesn't believe that just because she's his wife.

"I would be here for Hillary today if we had never been married because I believe in decades, she is the best candidate I've ever had the chance to support," Clinton said.

Clinton spoke to a crowd of 3,200 at Dickinson College Thursday.  He was on stage for about an hour, highlighting his wife's ideas on the environment, the economy, health care, and the war in Iraq (web|news) .  He says Hillary would begin to withdrawl troops from Iraq within 60 days of becoming commander in chief.

"It's the right thing to do," Clinton said.  "Because if we do what Senator McCain says and tell them we'll stay a hundred years, then they'll never make the decisions they have to make."

Analysts believe Bill Clinton can appeal to crucial younger voters, who typically might favor Barack Obama (web|news|bio) .  He swayed a few votes in his wife's direction during his appearance in Carlisle.

"I was actually planning on voting for Obama coming in here," said sophmore Mara Anderson.  "I think I might have changed my mind."

"I'd say that I've definitely been swayed over towards her side by this speech today," said sophmore Simon Dosovitz.

Lee Tankle had the chance to meet Clinton, and shake his hand.

"I'm actually speechless," Tankle said.  "It was the greatest thrill of my life."

Of course Clinton did not change everyone's mind.

"He's a very dynamic speaker," said student Ryan Koons.  "But I'm not going to vote for his wife."

Clinton did say that his wife needs to win Pennsylvania, if she wants to win the White House.

"She can win this race... but it's up to you," he said.

It is a good thing he supports his wife...afterall she supported him!

This is an important decision for every American. Remember she KNOWS the political challenges the new PRESIDENT will face...not everything occurs once one is in the White House...it takes a TEAM effort to accomplish UNITY for our country. This country doesn't have time to TRAIN a new President!

Before you choose a President,,,BE INFORMED! Everyone has skeletons in their polical arena. It is promising when one can learn from their past choices.

I will probably be bashed for this comment but, as of now...she fills the country's need...she supports CHANGE also.
