A Harrisburg man was struck and critically injured while trying to cross the 1600 block of State Street Thursday night.

The man, identified as Larry E. Latham, was listed in critical but stable condition this morning, according to Harrisburg Mayor Stephen Reed.

Reed indicated that charges are pending against the driver of the vehicle which struck Latham.

Witnesses said the car had just turned the corner from 16th Street when it struck Latham, who is said to have multiple trauma to this upper body.

The windshield of the vehicle was broken by the impact. Latham was said to be semiconscious but unresponsive after the incident, which occurred around 10:00 p.m.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Harrisburg Police at 717-255-3131.
