York, Pa. - A registered sex offender will spend an additional 25 to 50 years in state prison for attempting to kidnap a woman from a Walmart parking lot with the intent to rape her.
Joseph Holt, 23, was additionally designated a sexually violent predator at his sentencing Tuesday in York County Court.
Authorities said the York man was on probation in an attempted rape conviction in Lancaster County when he followed a woman to her car at the East York Walmart, identified himself as a police officer, and tried to handcuff her in April 2007.
He ran away when the woman screamed and Travis VanKuren, at the time a 17-year-old Dallastown High School student, ran to her aid.
