Sunday brought sunshine and lots more activity at the Litschi house in Myerstown.
Day three meant more roof work. New shingles were installed.
There was also a literal meaning to the phrase "clean house." Crews with Turbo Tex Inc. Prepped the outside of the house for a major facelift.
Bryan Richwine, with Turbo Tex, explained, "Some pressure washing going on to prep the additional exterior of the building. We also have some brick replacement. At this point there's just a lot of different things going on."
There, indeed, was a lot going on. New windows were installed, plus new molding. Balconies received repairs with new railings and posts to add new safety and strength.
"Putting a new post in here to support the weight of the balcony above," noted Glenn Kelso with Wickard Bros. Siding. "We jacked it up right here because it was sagging from being so old."
For all the work going on outside, there was even more going on inside.
The Litschi family will have much sturdier floors, especially to ease wheelchair use.
Joe Essis, with Essis & Sons Carpet One told us, "We're getting ready to put vinyl in the bathrooms which is a product called Ultima that has an aluminum oxide finish on it."
Workers from Ciocca Honda do not paint for a living. But they donated their time to put some fresh coats of paint on the upstairs bedrooms.
Carl Dreibelbis, with Ciocca Honda, noted "It's huge. You just don't see walls like this. They're like sponges - lots of paint."
Midstate Home Makeover continues throughout the week, with the big homecoming and reveal on Friday's newscasts.
