It will be back to school as usual on Monday for teachers and students in the Juniata County School District.

The district and the teachers' union reached a tentative agreement on a new contract this weekend.

The two main issues were salary and health care benefits.

The teachers' union will vote on the pact on Wednesday; the district will vote on Friday.

Classes will resume on Monday.  Graduation will go on as scheduled.

I dont care what school district we talk about, or what is or is not deserved by their teachers pay wise. My point always has been and always will be on these topics:

Why are teachers LEGALLY allowed to hold kids hostage at the end of school year for a strike???!!?? They have what, a week left of classes before this crap? Let the kids go home for the summer, then strike. And dont show up in August for a new year until you have a contract you are happy with. Period. End of discussion.

And dont give me the bs rhetoric about needing the leverage of ending school year and affecting kids to aid the Unions and Teachers positions. Casue its just that. bs.
