Police are investigating a report of a dog stolen from its home in the 6100 block of Grant Court near Linglestown.
The person responsible went to the basement of the home and removed the dog from its cage on Tuesday, sometime between 1:30 and 3:00 p.m., police said.
The rear door to the residence was left open, but police said no other items in the home were missing or disturbed.
The dog (see photo) is a female mixed lab. It is described as black and white in color and answers to the name "Penny." It was wearing a pink collar.
