State Police are attempting to identify a man wanted in the attempted robbery of the Juniata Valley Bank and the robbery of Rosewood Market in McAlisterville on Friday.
Police said the man attempted to enter the bank at approximately 3:00 p.m., but suspicious employees did not allow him to enter. The man then left the bank in an older maroon or reddish hatchback vehicle driven by a woman.
Approximately five minutes later, police said the same man entered Rosewood Market, where he gave the clerk a note demanding money.
The clerk opened the cash register drawer and the subject removed money from the register, police said. The clerk also noticed a handgun in the man's waist band as he was removing the money.
The man then fled the market and entered a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle seen at the bank, also being operated by a female, police said.
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5'07" tall, with a thin build. He was wearing light colored sweat pants, a dark windbreaker style jacket and a light ball cap.
Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Lewistown at (717) 320-1010.
