Police are looking for a man who attempted to lure a nine-year-old girl into a vehicle Friday afternoon in the 1300 block of Monroe Street.
Several employees of the nearby Downey School were working at the back of the building when they saw an older-model Ford Bronco pull up next to the girl, according to Harrisburg Mayor Stephen Reed.
The driver allegedly asked the girl to get into the vehicle - but when the employees approached him, he stated that he loved children and quickly pulled away, according to Reed.
The man is described as a white male, about 5'6" tall, in his late-60's or early-70's, with grey and black slicked-back hair.
The Ford Bronco has a yellowish-tan color and is a more prominent brown color from the front doors to the back of the vehicle.
Anyone with information on the vehicle or the driver is asked to call Harrisburg Police at 255-3131.
