A Lancaster County woman has been arrested and charged with retail theft after she reportedly allowed a friend to steal gasoline from the station where she worked.
Police said the store manager of a Turkey Hill Minit Market on 320 E. Main St. in Mountville caught employee Trisha Coldiron of Lancaster giving cigarettes to a friend without paying. The manager notified police and during the investigation police said Coldiron admitted that she allowed a different friend to steal $50 worth of gas from the pump. Coldiron reported the missing gas to the company as a drive-off.
"Unfortunately for her this is going to be on her record for the rest of her life," said Cpl. Gary Strock of the Manor Township Police. "If she goes for a job somewhere else this is definitely going to hurt her."
Strock said police believe each of the incidents happened only once. He said they most likely will also charge Coldiron's two friends with theft.
A spokeswoman for Turkey Hill would not comment on the incidents.
