There were two more reports of violence in Midtown, though police may have a received clue following the pair of early Sunday morning attacks.
There were no weapons involved, but the attackers did take money and took off in an SUV. Police have the plate number and tracked down the vehicle.
Since the beginning of the month, there have been eight violent incidents in the Midtown section of Harrisburg. Pedestrians were assaulted, robbed, or both.
"They had their guns drawn and they wanted everything we had," said armed robbery victim Jeremy Garrett.
The most recent happened early Sunday morning near the intersection of Second and Union Street.
"They lifted me in the air and than threw me onto the ground. As soon as I was on the ground, I got punched and kicked a couple times," said Ryan, a West Shore resident who asked us to conceal his identity for personal reasons.
Ryan suffered cuts, scrapes, and scratches. The two attackers made off with his wallet and took off in an SUV.
"It's really sad, but they got the last bit of my birthday money. There was probably about $70 to $75 in there," Ryan said.
After alerting police, Ryan learned he was the group's second target that night. Another victim got the plate number from the attackers' Chevy Blazer. Investigators apparently found that vehicle and Ryan's debit and credit cards inside. No word if they tracked down the suspects. Police didn't return our calls.
"When it starts happening in places that it doesn't normally happen, it's alarming," said Ryan.
Ryan says he's always felt safe in the city, but now he's taking precautions. One way involves carrying less cash and not walking through certain areas.
"It's going to keep me from being on foot by myself at different places," said Ryan.
Last week, police arrested two teens who may be responsible for prior random attacks. But violence continues in Midtown in the form of robberies and assaults. Police previously told us they're saturating the area with uniformed and undercover patrols.
