A former Pennsylvania radio personality has been indicted on charges of using stolen bank account information from the Federal Communications Commission, Bard College and others in a $4.3 million forged check scheme.
The 65-count indictment charges Bruce Bond with forgery, attempted grand larceny, identity theft and other charges that allege he worked the scheme over the past 15 months with accomplices in Nigeria and Europe.
The afternoon drive-time talker for WNNK radio in Harrisburg was arrested May 20. He pleaded not guilty on Friday in Manhattan's state Supreme Court. He was ordered held in $250,000 bond and scheduled to return to court July 23.
Prosecutors say the complicated scheme involved Bond sending bogus checks drawn on various corporate accounts to work-at-home job seekers.
