Lykens, Pa. - State police are investigating a report of an attempted child abduction in northern Dauphin County over the weekend.

Two boys told police they were approached Saturday by a man who offered them $35 if they would go with him. The boys, who were walking to their home in Lykens after fishing, said they threw their tackle box at the man and ran, according to a police news release.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25-35 years old, approximately six feet tall and apparently had not shaved in three to four days. He was wearing a black shirt, black pants, black shoes and appeared to have a black hood over his face. Police said he may go by the nickname "black."

Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Lykens at (717) 362-8700.
