Harrisburg, Pa. - Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Harrisburg this afternoon.
Officers were called to 13th Street, near the Paxton Street intersection, shortly before 1 p.m.
Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick told abc27 news the shooting is a homicide. An autopsy will be performed tomorrow on the victim, identified only as a 19-year-old Harrisburg man.
Police Chief Charles Kellar said the victim was walking along South 13th Street, on the Interstate 83 overpass, and was fired at from a passing vehicle.
The homicide marks the seventh shooting incident in the city in recent days.
In light of the recent shootings, Dauphin County officials said two detectives from the District Attorney's Criminal Investigations Division have been assigned to work full-time with Harrisburg police to assist in their investigations.
