The rain came down the day we photographed it, but the 2008 BMW 650i convertible is a car in search of the sun. This drop top version of BMW's luxury coupe is loaded with $16,000 in options including a sport package with gorgeous 19-inch wheels.
The nose is highlighted by what BMW calls Corona light rings and LED turn signals.
The pearl leather upholstery alone is a $2,400 option. The seats are excellent and accomodations up front are top notch and beautiful.
The back seats are another story. Even a baby would be cramped. There is room, however, for your Fendi handbag.
A couple of golf bags will fit, but the trunk space is reduced by the cove to store the convertible top.
With a buttery smooth 4.8 liter V8, surgically precise handling and confidence building brakes, there are few cars in the world that can match a BMW's driving experience. And there are few cars that can match the price tag on this one. As equipped, the sticker is $98,970.
All that money and it still has a strange looking trunk lid. But the BMW 650i convertible is quite a car.
