Police have filed charges of criminal homicide against the mother of a two-year old York girl who was allegedly beaten to death by the woman's boyfriend.
Neida E. Baez, 19, had been charged with endangering the welfare of children in the death of Darisabel Baez.
Police said the mother's boyfriend, Harve L. Johnson, 26, confessed to beating Darisabel with a video game controller at the couple's apartment in the 700 block of West Philadelphia Street.
Johnson and Baez had called 911 on April 6 after they tried to revive the girl and could not, according to police.
Darisabel, who suffered from severe injuries to her face, head and body, died the next day at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
According to arrest records, Baez told police that Johnson had been physically abusive toward the girl for a couple of months.
Police said Baez did not seek help for the girl and did nothing to protect her from the abuse.
