One thousand Civil War re-enactors from Texas put on Virginian colors to portray General Jubal Early's entrance to Gettysburg.
In 1863, Early's troops came into the town to demand food and supplies. The march is a prelude to the next three days of reenactments planned to celebrate the 145th anniversary of the historic battle.
Numerous programs will take place at the reenactment site on Table Rock Road. The National Park Service also has programs to show the events that took place on the battlefield. For more information, click on www.gettysburgreenactment.com.
