A Hershey man is accused of trying to kill his wife during a family rafting trip on the Swatara Creek, according to Derry Township Police.
Jason A. Powell, 30, is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
Police said Powell and his wife got into an argument which escalated into a physical fight on Saturday. Mrs. Powell reported that she was choked and held under water, but was able to free herself and get to the creek bank and flag down a passing motorist, according to police.
Powell was placed in Dauphin County Prison on $250,000 bail.
