Police say 35-year-old Stanley Mosley confessed.
They say he admitted he was the man who broke into a string of Asian restaurants in Dauphin and Cumberland Counties in June and July.
Not only that, they say he led them to some of the stolen cash and coins. He also took them to a restaurant in Hampden Township and described how he got inside.
But after his arraignment Wednesday, Mosley told abc27 that he's "not guilty."
Mosley was charged with seven different break-ins in Cumberland County. He will face an additional seven charges in Dauphin County. Those charges will likely be filed next week, according to police.
Why Asian restaurants? Police can only speculate.
"I just think he felt he could do those easier - he was good at it," said West Shore Regional Police Chief Howard Dougherty.
Dougherty says he's glad Mosley was arrested before someone was hurt.
Mosley was on parole for breaking into Chinese restaurants. Police say he was released earlier this year. Because of his parole status, he will be returned to the state prison in Camp Hill to await trial on the new charges.
Xay Onelangsy owns the Thai Palace on Market Street in Hampden Township. He lost his cash register and safe in a break-in. He's relieved Mosley will be behind bars. He says not knowing if the suspect was still on the loose was scary.
"We're glad to hear that he won't be going around anymore breaking into any more restaurants and stealing any more stuff," Onelangsy said.
Mosley said that the truth will come out in court.
