The statewide smoking ban for public indoor places takes effect in a little over a month and half. In many cases, it won't necessarily be an easy transition.
In Harrisburg, the ban is forcing some big choices among restaurants who also have a good bar crowd - like Garrason's Tavern on Forster Street. When the smoking ban was first announced, Rob Fogleman was debating whether he would prohibit smoking or cut back on food sales.
He decided to cut smoking - for a while at least.
"Eventually, if it doesn't work out after three or four months, I will probably cut back the kitchen," he said. "And I'll have to let go employees and cut back on my menu."
A similar dilemma is facing Spice, formerly known as Fisaga's. They have big food sales and a brisk nightlcub crowd. They still have not settled on a strategy.
