Bonusgate is far from over at the state capitol. The Pittsburgh Tribune Review reports that on Friday, lawyers for former House Democratic Whip Mike Veon and other defendants in the case sent subpoenas to at least 39 lawmakers and their staff members. As many as 100 subpoenas may have gone out. Those who received the notices will have to appear at a hearing next week. The attorney general's office is prosecuting bonusgate as a case involving lawmakers paying staff members bonuses with taxpayer money for doing campaign work.
