Harrisburg, Pa. - The Harrisburg Mall sold at a sheriff's sale in Dauphin County this morning.
The sale comes after what's been a turbulent period for the mall. Boscov's closed, Barnes and Noble backed out of a plan to move in and the previous owner of the mall defaulted on its $50 million mortgage.
"The owners will be supporting the mall," said Barry Bressler, attorney for the banks. "They probably are a little deeper pocketed than the former ownership of the mall, and since these are financial institutions their goal will be to eventually sell the mall."
The Colonial Country Club also sold at the sheriff's sale.
It was sold to its current mortgage holder, Triple Crown Corporation, after the club defaulted on its $3 million mortgage.
