A Hanover college student faces charges he attempted to solicit sex from a 14-year-old girl, Attorney General Tom Corbett announced Thursday.
Michael Patrick Woodward, 21, was arrested Wednesday and arraigned on twelve counts of unlawful contact with a minor and one count of criminal use of a computer, all third-degree felonies which are each punishable by up to seven years in prison and $15,000 fines.
According to arrest records, Woodward used an Internet chat room to approach an undercover agent using the online profile of a 14-year old girl and sent a nude webcam video of himself within minutes of the initial contact.
Over the next several weeks, he sent a total of 12 nude photos and videos to three different undercover agents posing as young girls, according to Corbett.
Agents executed a search warrant at Woodward's home and seized two computers and storage devices. Woodward was jailed in York County Prison in lieu of $75,000.
