Tower City, Pa. - The band director at Williams Valley High School is facing child pornography charges, according to state police.
Leroy Johns Jr., 43, of Tower City, is accused of having images and videos of child pornography on a home computer. He was charged July 29 with ten counts of possession of child pornography.
Cpl. Paul Smith, of state police in Reading, said the images were found during an investigation that began earlier last month when Johns was interviewed as part of an investigation into child pornography on the Internet.
Johns is free on $35,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 24.
School district officials refused to comment on his employment status.
