The story of Milton Hershey will soon be retold in the center of the the town he founded. Construction on "The Museum On Chocolate Avenue" is nearing completion.
The façade of the building is inspired by the 1893 Colombian Exposition where Hershey first bought his chocolate making equipment.
The lower level of the museum will hold shops, a cafe and a chocolate lab - where visitors will learn about chocolate production and be able to sample their favorite sweet.
The life and legacy of Milton Hershey will be found by following a grand staircase to the second floor, where the Hershey Story will be told using five themes.
Interactive exhibits will allow visitors to see the early successes and failures of Mr. Hershey and learn how the man mass marketed chocolate.
Hershey's role in the community along with his legacy with the Milton S. Hershey school shows how the man continues to serve the community that bears his name.
The Hershey Story will open January 2nd, 2009. There will be a $10 admission to the exhibits.
