Pequea Township, Pa. - Police are investigating a two-car crash that killed a Dillsburg woman in Lancaster County over the weekend.

Southern Regional police say Aleen B. Shissler, 86, was a passenger in a vehicle that had been traveling south in the northbound lanes of Willow Street Pike (Route 272) in Pequea Township. The Buick LeSabre struck a northbound Honda Accord head-on.

Shissler was pronounced dead at Lancaster General Hospital as a result of the Sunday crash, which occurred shortly before 5 p.m.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Lancaster General. the hospital and was listed in critical condition. The driver of the Buick, , 89-year-old Amos Shissler, was listed in critical condition. The driver of the Honda, 24-year-old Lindsay Hemmelstein of Wrightsville, appeared to suffer non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

How many people have to get hurt or die before somebody gets serious about  retesting drivers? I really don't want to point a finger specifically at the senior drivers out there, but there just seems to be more and more accidents involving this group of people. There are truly some people that should no longer possess a driver's license.
