Lancaster, Pa. - A former branch manager is accused of stealing nearly $60,000 from a bank in Lancaster County.
Mickey D. Bernhard, 33, of Adamstown, was charged with theft by unlawful taking on Thursday, according to Manheim Township police.
Police say the investigation began when company officials reported suspicious cash withdrawals from Bank of America, at 2010 Fruitville Pike. It was determined that $59,269 in cash had been taken from the bank between June 1 and September 8 , when Bernhard was the branch manager, police said.
Bernhard was released on $25,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing date was set for September 24.
