A repair operation will restrict traffic flow on southbound Interstate 81 in Cumberland County during the next two days, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Maintenance crews plan to make repairs between Exit 57 for Route 114 and Exit 59 for Route 11 on Monday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
On Tuesday, more work is planned near Exit 29 for Route 174 near the Franklin County line.
On both days, traffic will be restricted to a single lane and traffic backups are expected to be significant, according to PennDOT. Motorists are urged to avoid the work zones, if possible.
PennDOT said the restrictions are necessary so that maintenance crews can repair potholes and prepare the pavement for the upcoming winter season.
