Steelton, Pa. - A Steelton man is in a hospital following a shooting Tuesday night in Steelton.

Andre T. Steele, 29, suffered a gunshot wound to the back during the incident, which occurred just before 10 p.m. in the 300 block of South Front Street.

Police said the suspect fired three shots at Steele. Drugs were found in the area during the investigation, according to borough officials.

"We feel that it's a drug deal that went bad," said Steelton Mayor Thomas Acri. Right now, we have a victim in the hospital being treated. The shooter we know had dressed in black and was wearing a black ski mask."

The suspect took off on foot and remains at large.

Police said Steele is on state probation for numerous criminal violations and is not cooperating with the investigation.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to called Dauphin County 911 at 717-558-6900.

ABC 27 Talkback: Mayor: Shooting May Have Been Drug Deal Gone Wrong

Please get this story straight.  People tune into "news" to get correct, acurate information.  Pennlive states no drugs were found at the scene but yet WHTM said drugs were found.  Are these facts or assumptions.  I guess it has to be a drug deal gone bad instead of something like robbery because those involved are young, black males.
