Sarah Palin first visited Lancaster on September 9. At Franklin and Marshall College, Palin made a prediction.
Palin told the crowd, "We know that it is going to be a hard fought battle here in Pa., but John McCain (web|news|bio) and I, we are ready - and with your help, we're gonna win."
To get that help, Palin is coming back. She will hold a "Road to Victory" rally on Saturday at Clipper Magazine Stadium. Tickets were available on Thursday. At Lancaster County's GOP Headquarters, supporters were eager.
Susan Thompson of East Petersburg laughed, "I should be at work. Fortunately, I have a very supportive supervisor who told me to go ahead."
"I just love her vivaciousness," said Liz Knerr of Lancaster. "I think she's a huge asset to the campaign."
We think that she reflects a lot of the values that we stand for and want to show our support," said Steven Richardson of Reinholds.
"She has really energized the base of the Republican party," added Stephen Lehman of Mount Joy.
When Sarah Palin was in Lancaster last month, she was new and fresh. Since then, she has faced critics who have taken her to task for attacks on Democrat Barack Obama (web|news|bio) - namely, innuendo that he is involved with terrorists. And of course, there is also the Alaskan "Troopergate" issue.
Still, Lancaster County supporters remain just that - supporters.
"I think it's all this whole partisan thing," said Liz Kneer. "It's been in the works for a while. Just now they're making a big deal out of it."
Carl Apshur of Quarryville explained, "I just think that we need a change and I think her and McCain could bring that change we need."
Lancaster County's GOP Headquarters has 6,000 tickets to give out. On Thursday, they were going at the rate of 400 an hour. A representative from Clipper Magazine Stadium told abc27 that the venue has 5,000 seats. But when they seat folks on the lawn area and on the field, the stadium can handle about 10,000.
Saturday's "Road to Victory" rally with Sarah Palin is at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are available at local Republican Party headquarters.
