Westover, Pa. - A firefighter has died of a heart attack responding to a blaze at an abandoned building in central Pennsylvania, and a fire marshal has ruled it an arson.
Nobody has been charged with setting the fire about 12:30 a.m. Saturday in Westover, Clearfield County. That's about 75 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
Cambria County Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski says 41-year-old Roy Westover Jr. suffered a heart attack and died at Miners Medical Hospital in Hastings less than two hours after responding to the fire.
Westover was a member of the Westover Area Fire Department. His funeral with full firefighter honors is scheduled for Wednesday at the Westover Baptist Church.
Westover was a member of the fire department for more than 20 years.
