The luggage is rolling. The passengers are hurrying and security is scanning. It's all to get together for Thanksgiving. As she waits for friends at Harrisburg International Airport, Wanda Dallazia of Kulpmont says she's ready." We have a family get together, a few arguments and lots of food." Bucknell University student Valerie Rippey is traveling to Oregon. "All my family in Oregon lives like 20 minutes max from me so we all get together and have a big Thanksgiving dinner."
The airlines stress that when you're traveling during a busy holiday period, it's a good idea to pack some essentials in a carry on bag just in case you get separated from your luggage. As she waited for a flight, Victoria Wilcox of Chambersburg says she learned the hard way. "The last time I flew was last summer and I got delayed. And then they lost my
luggage."

The airlines also recommend that if you have to use connecting flights, don't book your flights too close together. People at HIA say plan on arriving at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight so there's plenty of time to clear security checks.
Jay Jualbe of Lancaster is headed to U.S. Army basic training. "Orignally we were supposed to be there tonight but our flight was delayed," says Jualbe. But he'll still make it to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving dinner, Army style. "At the base everybody says that they have an amazing dinner."
