Harrisburg, Pa. - Some big retailers don't like it when Web sites find out what the Black Friday deals will be and then post them. But some stores like the free exposure.
The day after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday because it's the day when some retailers turn a profit and break into the black. But do shoppers really find good deals on that day?
"I find good deals," said Lillian Davenport of Harrisburg. "And I love to shop. I'm a shopaholic so it's nice."
PC Magazine said the best place to find out about Black Friday deals now is by going to www.dealsnews.com. Whenever Deals News finds out what specials a major retailer like Sears is planning, it puts them on the website.
Another popular website that now lists some of the Black Friday deals is www.blackfridayads.com. It has the inside scoop on what Lowe's special deals will be.
All of these types of websites remind shoppers that some of the deals can change between now and Black Friday.
But some shoppers told us that Black Friday in general is overrated.
"We do find special deals then, but the way the economy is right now, the special deals are every day," said Ted Goehrig of Harrisburg.
