Harrisburg, Pa. - Police plan to file charges against a Dauphin County man accused of waving a pistol during a road rage incident.
John W. Danner, 36, of Hummelstown, will be charged with two counts of simple assault and reckless endangerment in connection with the incident Wednesday evening on Route 322, according to Swatara Township police.
The victims of the incident reported they were traveling westbound when a man pulled up next to their vehicle and displayed a black handgun, police said. Prior to waving the gun, the victims told police the man had been driving recklessly, flashing his lights and cutting them off.
Police stopped Danner on Interstate 83 north based on a description of the suspect and his vehicle the victims provided to emergency dispatchers. A loaded semi-automatic handgun was recovered from Danner and two shotguns and ammunition were found in the rear passenger area of his vehicle, police said.
