Lemoyne, Pa. - Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett has announced the arrests of 10 people accused of using, distributing and manufacturing steroids in the Dauphin, Cumberland, Lehigh and Northampton County areas.

Corbett said the defendants brought more than $170,000 worth of steroids from China and Mexico into Pennsylvania since 2004.

According to an investigating grand jury, five of the defendants obtained and sold steroids in the Cumberland and Dauphin County areas; including two personal trainers; Eric Garonzik, 39, of Mechanicsburg; and Stacy Garoznik, 38, of Shiremanstown.

They are accused of injecting clients with liquid steroids in the office of their gym, Kinetics, which is now closed, but was located in Lemoyne, Corbett said.

Corbett identified the other defendants in the Harrisburg area as Joel France, 42, of Harrisburg; Robert Greynolds, 28, of Middletown; and Christopher Levan, 36, of Mechanicsburg.

He said many of the steroid deliveries in the Harrisburg area took place near Gold’s Gym in Swatara Township.

Corbett said investigators followed the steroid supply to the Lehigh Valley, where they discovered five other men involved in distributing steroids. He said the investigation is ongoing.

"Like any illegal drug, steroids come with a negative and dangerous side effect," Corbett told reporters.  "We need to do everything we can to make sure that the public, especially our young men and women, are aware of the dangers of using steroids and we need to take those who distribute this poison off of our streets."

All ten suspects were arraigned Tuesday afternoon and released on bond.  They're scheduled to be back in court January 7 for preliminary hearings.

How many steroid addicts do you know of that steal cars or break into houses for drug money? Steroids are not narcotics, and steroid users are not dope fiends.
