York, Pa. - Police attempting to identify a man suspected of robbing a convenience store in York County want to hear from anyone who recognizes the suspect or his vehicle from surveillance photographs.
State police in York say the robbery occurred at around 3:47 a.m. Monday at the Tom's Convenience Store, at 648 E. Forrest Ave., in Shrewsbury Township.
The suspect did not display a gun, but held his hand in his pocket when he demanded cash from the register, police said. He fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen heading toward Interstate 83.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 18-25 years old, 5'0" to 5'2" tall, 130-150 lbs., with dark brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans, and a dark baseball cap.
His vehicle is described as a black four-door, possibly a Hyundai Santa Fe, with silver rims, a chrome roof rack, and white license plates, possibly Maryland, on the front and back of the vehicle.
